February Workout Summary

February has come to a close which means spring is almost here! I spent part of the month in San Diego and the bulk of February here in Arizona. I am loving the sunshine, the cool nights and crisp early mornings. I begin my days early, around 630 am, in order to get my workouts in before the start of my workday! Here’s what February looked like for me!

Run, 8 runs, not as many as last month, but I was still able to get in 2-3 runs a week during February. These runs do not include my time on the treadmill at Orangetheory, just the outdoor runs. Since our dogs did not tag along with us to Spring Training this year my outdoor running declined! Typically, I run my dogs every other day. Since they are with my parents during this 6-weeks, I am able to give my knees and joints a break from pounding the pavement!

Orangetheory Fitness, 11 classes- One of the reasons I love having my OTF membership is that I can use it NATIONWIDE!! My “home” Orangetheory studio is in Roseville, but this month I used my membership in San Diego (a few different locations) and here in Arizona! It’s fun trying new studios and coaches and getting a feel for how each interprets the Orangetheory workouts!

Yoga- 4 classes- I stumbled across a Groupon for a Bikram Yoga studio, $35 for an unlimited month of yoga and hot Pilates. You bet I jumped ALL over that deal. I hadn’t practiced Bikram Yoga in a long time and I am enjoying the repetition of this practice. I’ve taken the abbreviated 60-minute classes versus the standard 90-minute class. Since I am just getting back into my practice, 60-minutes is long enough for me. It’s been a great way to stretch my tight muscles as well as a time to relax my mind and body.

Kayla Itsines BBG, 10 workouts- As I mentioned last month, I am participating in the 12-Week Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide program. Since beginning in January, I have completed 7 full weeks of the BBG. I’ve been able to double up on workouts 3-days a week in order to get my BBG workouts in along with OTF and yoga. I set up a pretty sweet home gym in our hotel room where I do my BBG workouts! Oh, and where I’ll bounce on my trampoline!

Extra Workouts- My extra workouts this month included hot mat Pilates, spin, and rebounding on my mini trampoline. These workouts were done 1-2 times a week often on weekends when I had a little extra time. Be sure to check out some of my latest at-home trampoline workouts here and here.
